Forging Your Style/Workshop
Location: Museo Art Academy, Issaquah
Forging Your Own Style: What is your style? Is it evolving? Do you agree with Matisse that it is foolish not to look at the work of other artists before taking off in your own direction? By sifting through scores of images, by using exercises designed to uncover your preferences for shape, color, and line, and by exploring a range of approaches to painting planning, you'll come away with a clearer sense of what style is uniquely yours. Bring several images (photos or sketches) you'd like to use a subjects for future paintings.
Two hour workshop is held 3 consecutive Tuesdays from 10 am - noon. Register at Museo Art Academy.

The Emerging Artist/Workshop
Location: Museo Art Academy, Issaquah
This term is used frequently, but rarely are the steps for emerging ever discussed. Each artist has his/her goals. In this class you'll have a chance to refine your goals and identify concrete steps to take to reach them. Use class time to work on furthering your objectives, whether this includes plans to approach galleries, writing of materials, or mapping your future. Explore inexpensive, easy ways to market your work even if you are not wild about marketing; and learn about resources to help you stay motivated and inspired along the way by dipping into The Artist's Way (Cameron) and I'd Rather Be in the Studio (Stanfield).
Workshop runs Tuesdays, 3/16, 3/23, and 4/6, from 10 am - noon. Register at Museo Art Academy.

Underpainting/Workshop
Location: Museo Art Academy, Issaquah
Underpainting: It's tempting to rush through the underpainting to get to the main subject. But by spending more time developing an interesting underpainting, you can integrate it more effectively with your subject. Learn about new ways to create contrast, unify or fragment your painting, explore texture, create a mood, and more. Bring a photo or sketch as your subject.
Workshops run 3 consecutive Tuesdays, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, from 10 am - noon. Register at Museo Art Academy. Click on Workshops for Teens/Adults.
